All respectable breeders of pedigree dogs must put pressure on the authorities to ban this misery.
The Kennel Club and the RSPCA and the other dog charities should stop falling out and work together to help the public to learn where to buy a puppy from. The puplic MUST learn that you do not buy a puppy on impulse it is a big commitment and should not be undertaken lightly. DOGS ARE NOT FASHION ACCESSORIES, they are living feeling creatures like you and I

Hi there i wish to inform you of the court date the 14th september 09,at Sittingbourne magistrates, kent where there will be 2 cases of horrifc animal crulety where 1 case of puppy farmers in teyham whentsfarm, and the other is a man who hammered his dog to death. I will be attending this date to see the out come and hope that justice will be served to these poor dogs that had a one way ticket to death, used and abused for profit .If you would also like to support this then PLEASE come along where my self and friends will be attending .
The sad thing is that these people have another property in Ashford , kent also a huge puppy farming bussiness that is still opperating under a different bourough . If we can make this known mayb we might be able to save many other suffering dogs.
Regards Terri x

The legislation that is in place is frequently not implemented by local authorities, and it does not go nearly far enough to stop this despicable trade.

The government continues to fail our faithful friends, and should be deeply ashamed of their failures.

The general public have to be made aware of the terrible lives that these animals endure, and refuse to buy from puppy farms or pet shops.

I totally support the "Puppy Party" and hope that the event is well covered by newspapers and TV.

i just want to pick up on something on the 'picking a puppy' list. As the Kennel Club also lists puppy farmers, people shouldn't rely solely on their recommendation to find a reputable breeder. The other points on the list should always apply too!

My perfect dog came from a rescue. :-)

Sadly the RSPCA have no jurisdiction as they are severely restricted by the laws in the UK. We should follow the USA model where they have far greater powers to confiscate animals who aren't being properly cared for.
We have a pet shop near my home that sells puppy farm pets and we cannot get the Council to revoke their licence. Unless this practice is made illegal and people learn NOT to buy from these people, the practice will continue.

Puppy Farms should be banned. The government should step in & stop this practice & the Kennel Club
should not allow these dogs to be registered with them. There is no excuse for the constant breeding of these animals.(Where is the RSPCA) Why are they not shutting them down?. The council's that give these people licences need education or is the money more important.
